Being in a relationship requires that you share yourself, your hopes, dreams, aspirations and even your failures. Life is hard enough, so your relationship should not be a place for judgement, ridicule or shame. It should be a safe haven where you can be open about everything, especially your faults and failures.

You happen to find out that your boyfriend or girlfriend failed a subject last term or did not achieve a particular goal. Here are some tips on how to motivate your significant other and put him or her on the path to success once again.

De-funk

After failure, there is a keen sense of disappointment. If left unchecked, it can consume a person and lead him or her down the path towards depression. Nip this in the bud by reminding bae of his or her accomplishments and ventures. Remind him or her that it is not the end of the world and this hurdle in life can be overcome. Try to find ways to get it off his or her mind, but be gentle in your approach.

Keep tabs

Let us be honest. Many of us are chronic procrastinators and need that extra push to get something done or to refocus on our goals. You can help your boyfriend or girlfriend by reminding him or her of classes, exam dates and even homework. Try downloading an app which allows you to share this information between one another. Not only will you be able to manage your times, but it will also help you to see how much you are accomplishing. You could try Google Calender or Cal.

Always encourage

Ever heard the saying once bitten twice shy? He or she may be hesitant about doing something again because of discouragement from failing it before. Be the one to let him or her see the need to continue pursuing what has been started.

Create a vision board

Seeing what one is aiming for is a good way to get inspired. Fill a vision board with motivational quotes, a picture of your dream school or the person who influences you guys the most.

Become the student

When someone has the ability to teach a topic or skill, then it is safe to say he or she has mastered it. Whatever subject or skill boo is struggling with, allow him or failure

When someone has the ability to teach a topic or skill, then it is safe to say he or she has mastered it. Whatever subject or skill boo is struggling with, allow him or her to teach it to you. Devote at least 15 to 30 minutes listening to him or her speak or showing you what he or she has learnt.
