Kajamba Fitz-Henley YOUTHLINK WRITER

Embarrassing ourselves seems like something we'd all certainly like to avoid. Has anyone ever forced you to do something embarrassing? Some people don't care as much about it as one would think, while others actively try to avoid anything even remotely uncomfortable. Which type of person are you? Maybe this weeks 'would you rather' scenarios will help you find out.

• Every Saturday, you and your friends meet to talk, shop, eat and explore the town. All your friends look forward to showing off their best outfits for this outing. However, your parents have been getting increasingly worried about your wardrobe, which they think is too revealing. Finally, your mother puts her foot down and demands that you wear more modest clothing, such as long skirts and loose blouses, or you will stop going out on Saturdays. Your mother's taste in clothes is really embarrassing and you are afraid of what everyone will say.

WOULD YOU RATHER:

• Miss the outings with your friends (30%)

• Wear what your mother has suggested (70%)

• "I care about my fashion too much to let anybody pick my clothes for me like that. I'd rather stay home any day." (Sashauna, 16)

•"Take better clothes with me and find somewhere else to change." (Renae, 16)

• Your friend is encouraging you to make a post for the new social media challenge —you have to post your most embarrassing picture for all your followers to see. You're reluctant to do it; however, your friend gives you a choice to either post the embarrassing picture, or never use any filters in your pictures again.

• Only be able to post pictures without any filters (40%)

• "First of all, that friend sounds fake. Second, I look too cute with filters to give them up, so I'd just post the picture and done." (Kari, 16)

• "The filters aren't that important for me ... Instagrams aren't even that cute. I'd go without posting the picture." (Brianna, 15)

• You've always found music class challenging, as you don't consider yourself musically talented. Your friends have continuously teased you about sounding tone-deaf when you sing. However, the music teacher assigns a five-page essay on the history of music for homework. It is due in a week. Those who don't want to do the essay have to sing a song in front of the entire class as the alternative. Some have chosen to sing however, you are afraid of being laughed at.

WOULD YOU RATHER:
